"I Dare You To."
I have heard these words a lot this summer.
She says it to her sister when they are playing Mario Party on the Wii, "I dare you to go faster."
He says it to me when I point the water sprayer at him from the kitchen sink, and threaten to drench him, as a joke of course :o)
"I dare you to," he says.
A dare is presented as a call for courage to do something we might normally be unwilling to do. A dare sparks the initiation of thoughts surrounding a topic that would otherwise remain unexplored.
It provokes us to consider the idea that we might be capable of being more, and doing more than we thought was possible.
What if our best days are still ahead of us? What if our greatest accomplishments are just waiting in our future?
What if the most beautiful expressions of art and creativity that we are meant to express remain untouched and unexplored, because we are not daring ourselves to do better, be greater, and to go deeper into the purpose we were created for.
What if the business idea we have kept hidden, or the intimidating project we have been putting off, is the exact mountain we were meant to climb........today!
Dare yourself to be great! Dare yourself to do something you have always wanted to do, but have been too distracted, scared, insecure, or too busy to do.
Dare yourself to look further into your future and dream...........dream really big.
Dare yourself.........to be great!
