Gratitude runs deeply when I purpose to focus on what is going on around me. That is when the small things jump out at me and I stand back to drink in the moment.....
Like my girls giggling as they wrestle and roll around in the leaves....
Like the freedom to worship God. I'm not talking about singing in church on Sunday. I am talking about the wonderful gift of a personal relationship with God Almighty. At any given moment I can talk to Him, listen to Him, see Him all around me and worship Him. That is precious and something to be greatly thankful for.
I notice the simple moments more often. When I choose to focus on the blessed life I live, I notice the wind blowing the gorgeous Fall leaves all around me when I walk out the door in the morning. I notice the bright eyes of my three little girls that run to me every morning.....the minute I open my bedroom door. I notice the way they say, "Mama, Mama".
I notice how special it is to eat a meal together as a family and talk about our day. I notice things like how good it feels to indulge in chocolate chip pancakes with the man I love.....can't explain that one, but I am thankful for the moment (and the pancakes)....
What are you thankful for today?

Each day this week I will highlight something I am thankful for. You are welcome to join me in honor of Thanksgiving.
We have two of the most beautiful trees in our backyard. They turn such a bright golden yellow in the Fall. This year I took the time to take some pics.
We can only enjoy this view for a short time each season, but I am sure to soak it all in every year! One of my favorite things is to see the bright yellow still bursting through on a dark rainy morning. God's handiwork is so gorgeous.
I am thankful for everything God gives me, even a tree!

I learn from my children constantly. It can be humbling to know that a 7 year old girl might know more about unconditional love than I do. It is certainly true that a 3 or 4 year old knows how to soak in a day, and all the exciting wonders of each moment, more than I do at times.
They know how to jump into life with joy, trust, hope, love, excitement and expectation. I want to let go of the details and jump in like they do.
I purpose to pay attention to the tender moments in a day. The moments I have with my husband to talk, the moments my children want me, the moments I am alone. I am still learning, but I am jumping in....
I have hooked up with Emily, for Tuesdays Unwrapped.
The Christmas Flower Headband is now available. It can be purchased online at Born Fabulous Boutique.
This little girl is so much fun to photograph. I know I will end up with a fantastic pic in the end, but it takes literally dozens of pics just to get the one. During the photoshoot she is talking to her friends (nobody else is in the room with us), describing how she would decorate a cupcake, making a list of friends she wants to invite to her birthday party, and on and on.......
We end up with lots of photos like these:
This is the time of year that I enjoy the most.....the Fall going into the Christmas season. It is my favorite time of year. I have to work very hard at focusing my attention on life one day at a time.
You see, I am always bursting with excitement for Christmas. I want to shop, decorate, plan meals, bake cookies, take pics, buy fancy Christmas clothes and so on and so on....but I don't want to miss this gorgeous season of Fall. It is so short, but so wonderful. This is the time of year to play outside in the leaves, go on walks with the family, drink hot chocolate on the porch.....do families do these things anymore? We do, but only if I plan each day wisely and purpose to accomplish those plans.
The act of planning makes for a peaceful, productive and very happy holiday season.
Planning means peace..........just a little something I've learned.
I have added beautiful flower hair clips to my JJ Boutique line. They can be purchased online at Born Fabulous Boutique.
These are the 'Bloom Flower Hair Clips' available in pink, blue, berry and purple.
We are preparing for Christmas at Born Fabulous Boutique.
This beautiful Christmas Flower Hair Clip, also available as a headband, is now available.
Daisy Flower Hair Clips are perfect for any time of year.
As soon as I can, I will post pics of these great peices being modeled by very cute little girls that love to get all dressed up and sparkle!! All of our flowers have Swarovski crystal rhinestones on the petals....a very beautiful touch!
We are getting ready for Christmas around here!
I always enjoy a weekend with my family. I love finding the 'special' in really normal events. For instance, my husband decided to pack up the girls and take them over to the Amish Market for homemade ice cream. They were in their pj's, all ready for bed, but they put coats on and ran when they heard about his idea.
It was late, and there were my three girls jumping, squeeling, and hanging all over their daddy as they all headed out the door. All three of them were singing at the top of their lungs, "We shine, we shine, the light of God. And when we speak, we speak words of love. And when we dance, we might get a little loud..."
They all came back with the ice cream, ate about half of it, put the leftovers in the freezer and went to bed.
Btw, my baby is lovin' the piggy tail look lately.
The first two hours of our Friday morning were fairly normal. There was the regular busyness of any other morning with breakfast, brushing teeth, getting ready, three little girls that needed their hair done (two of them wanted pig tails at the last minute), and grabbing my coffee as I headed out the door (in a gorgeous mug, of course).
Within minutes of dropping our last little bundles off at preschool, HSFM (Hot Sexy Family Man) and I were sitting in a diner eating chocolate chip pancakes, drinking coffee and talking.......talking..........talking.......... hmmmm.
We have been squeezing in more hours like these, one at a time, more often lately.
Ok, I'll admit it, I created the pics all for myself. What can I say? I simpy adore him. When it was all said and done, he was very moved by my interest in him. His heart was touched because I focused on him in a different sort of a way. He was speechless...........he just looked through my photos silently and smiled.
Imagine, after 10 1/2 years of marriage.......he was moved! Little acts of love (possibly disguised as selfishness at first glance), go a very long way with those we care about.
Hmmm, I am already trying to think of other ways I can show more acts of love.
